I too have a serious time constraint issue to deal with and (honestly) I tend to skip alot of the political discussion when I don't have much time. I skip it in the papers as well cause I have enough grief in my life already. Music however rules my life and makes me wanna do crazy things like jump in the car this Weds. and drive 6 hours to Memphis to see Dave Matthews. I am also looking forward to pissing off my wife again and meeting you in Boston for some heavy duty playing. I don't find your postings boring at all and Vienna always catches my eye. The story about the Dylan fest was real special as well. Michael ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Jun 1999 00:24:32 EDT From: CaTGirl627@aol.com Subject: Re: $52 later . . . I'd lost my original. You sent me to EBay, where one waited for me...or for my $52. I felt guilty about spending so much I had my husband give it to me for my birthday. Today it arrived, and I'm a happy girl again. Lori Allen NP: Real Good For Free >> The prices for these songbooks vary so much from week to week. I was offered a CAS songbook from some kind soul on the list for a whopping 81 bucks which is what the person paid for it. Needless to say I declined. I got the book from eBay much cheaper but I can thank all my friends here for not bidding against me. I think that is one of the kindest things we can do for each other. There is always another songbook or find down the road you just have to be patient. Now, I am becoming addicted to eBay...YIKES!!!! I keep going there to see what they have. I get real mad when I see bootlegs on there...such nerve. Catgirl..anxiously waiting for her songbooks to arrive! ...and Flatsy's!! ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Jun 1999 01:46:34 -0400 From: "Patricia O'Connor" Subject: Re: Springsteen/Ticket prices >Springsteen is in Europe and will be until July 15 when he plays the >first of ahem! fifteen dates in E. Rutherford, NJ. No additional USA >dates have been announced. A friend called today, said he was buying Springsteen tickets from a "broker", asked if I wanted to go. "Sure!!" I said. "$200" he said. "Count me out!!" I said I said he was crazy, there are 15 shows, that's what?, a quarter of a million seats? Told him he being ripped off. Not an hour later a co-worker asked me if I knew where she could get 4 tickets for Springsteen, she needed them to "bribe" a client. Said she had shopped around and the best price she had found was $250 per ticket. What's the deal? I can't think of anyone I'd pay $200 to hear in concert, OK maybe Joni, but I saw Joni twice last fall for something like $115 for both shows. What's the most you all would pay for concert tickets and for whom? Joni was great in concert, but the Boss is a whole different thing. I've seen Bruce and the boys four or five times; I'm sure there are others on the list who may have seen him more and can attest to what I say. I'd love to see them again.
