She performed with the band at the Montreal Jazz Fest and while she was in town, taped a show in their TV studio. It was shown throughout Canada that fall and I haven't heard anything about it since. It was a really cool show and I'm glad to hear it got to BET, although I have no idea how that happened! Hey, Steve: If you can figure out what day and time it was that you saw the show, please tell me so I can be sure that Laura's publisher gets her royalties for the broadcast! The tape is not available for sale as far as I know. Now, Laura also has a great Sessions on West 54th Street segment taped back in, oh, 1998 (?) It was shown in the second season of that program on a lot of PBS stations. You might contact your local PBS station and request it. Maybe they'll pull it out and show it again. Or ask PBS or other arts/culture channels to contact Musimax in Montreal to get a broadcast license for the Laura Love program on La Boite a Jazz taped in July, 1999. btw, if you're calling someone about this, keep in mind that "boite" is pronounced "bwaat". Remember, if you're near Seattle this weekend, DO NOT miss the Laura Love Duo (with Jen Todd) at the Museum of History and Industry this Saturday, Feb 10, 8pm. Tickets at Bailey Coy, Dusty Strings, Terra Mar, Guitar Emporium and at the door. 8pm. Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer share the bill and the MC is Janice Carper. For more info go to www.SeaFolkLore.org. Take care, folks! Mary McFaul ------------------------------ End of octoroon-digest V4 #4 ****************************
