I've been swearing to get back, and probably would have gone this year if she were not playing in my backyard in Berkeley on Saturday night. For the record, they were laughing about Joe's antics at the festival on Friday and said he was doing the hula during Octoroon, "not a funny song," "but it will never be the same." They did a kick-ass show here as well. Woody Simmmons, an amazing banjo player Mary said was the first person she produced a concert for like 20 years ago, was the unexpected bonus opener. An awesome evening, lacking only Laura's live rendition of "Shenandoah," which has been making me homesick for Virginia. *BAY AREA FANS - Great American Music Hall in San Francisco is a great venue that hasn't booked Laura for two years, despite good crowds in the past. Like Mary said in a recent newsletter, they would rather hear from us than her, so help me bug them to have Laura back SOON. Their number is (415) 885-0750. Lisa O'Hara does the booking. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ End of octoroon-digest V3 #28 *****************************
