At least it wasn't cold!) I had a total blast. I've been amazed and inspired by Laura Love's recordings for a couple of years now, but Sunday at Harvest Fest was my first opportunity to hear/see her & the band live. They did NOT disappoint! I was so tired and damp and muddy by that point but a HUGE highlight of the weekend for me was dancing backstage during the LL set (with my stained glass umbrella). Not only was Laura's incredible energy and sense of humor infectious, but I had an excellent view of the handful of die-hards getting down in the mud, very gratifying to know that people were really enjoying themselves despite the less than ideal weather. Thanks for the hula hoops, Steph, they were a fun & funny addition to the set. :-) From my vantage point I was fortunate to also have a great view of what Rod, Laura and Barbara were doing. Oh MAN, they were so tight and professional and musical and FUN! I'm so sorry I won't be heading down to Live Oak this weekend. I can't wait to see the LL Band again! Peace all, and remember: it's all MUD!! :-) Patricia -----Original Message----- From: slgupton@unity.ncsu.edu [SMTP:slgupton@unity.ncsu.edu] Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 1999 8:54 PM To: Lnh4848@aol.com Cc: Birdgrdnr@aol.com; Allen.Aastrom@tsc.tdk.com; octoroon@smoe.org Subject: [octoroon] q The harvest fest may have disappointed some because of the foul weather, but I don't think it could have been better. Laura played Sunday and by this time there were less than 100 people around. I got to talk to her somebeforehand, and during her set she borrowed my roommattes hula hoop's and hula'd for everyone. Not only is she an amazing musician, but she really knows how to perform! I love her Steph ------------------------------ End of octoroon-digest V2 #71 *****************************
