Laura is scheduled to play the intimate 200-seat Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse, Saturday, July 23, in Berkeley (across the bay from San Francisco). This show has not yet been listed in any local newspapers, so very few people know about the event, but tickets *are* available now... I bought mine at the venue last night. With only 200 seats in one of the best listening rooms on the west coast, I expect this show will sell out early... get your tickets now! Further info (showtime, cost, address, public transit, etc), including links to an on-line ticket agency, available via the 'COMING EVENTS' link on my website (URL in sig below). See you there! Julie joins extraordinary vocalist Rhiannon, electric cellist Jami Sieber (Ferron's band), and percussionist Marquinho Brasil (Flora Purim, Airto, Martinho da Vila) at two 200-seat venues... both venues are excellent listening rooms. Tickets for the KUUMBWA event available at the door, or advance at Herland Bookstore (in Santa Cruz). Tickets for the FREIGHT event available at the door, or advance via the box office, BASS®, or TICKETWEB®. Further info, including on-line ticket purchase, is available via the 'COMING EVENTS' link on my website. See you at the KUUMBWA! If you're within 100 miles of this show, you oughta go. The rest of these folks are no slouches, either. I'd just about kill to be at that show. However, I *am* lucky enough to live in Bloomington, Indiana, home of the brandnew "StoneSong Festival" (http://stonesong.indiana.edu), July 1-3. Tons of really cool music, poetry, and dance; major acts include the Kronos Quartet, Kelly Willis, Honeyboy Edwards, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Amoskeag (a Civil War string band), and Laura Love. AND... a three day pass is only ten dollars. If you're in the vicinity (or not), this is probably going to be worth checking out. Check the website for details, and feel free to email me if you have general questions about Bloomington... Cheers, - -Anne (who gets to see Rose Polenzani tomorrow night, YAY!)
