She looked terrific and certainly unique with her temples shaved up pretty high and those long braided locks elsewhere. Her stage presence was much more fun filled and relaxed than the last time we saw her a few years back. Lotsa great slap bass playing. Vocal chords in fine form. More confident all the time!! Really got off on Barbara's fine and wild fiddle playing (wow) and it was apparent that Laura did too! Of course the rest of the band was excellent as usual. The whole thing appeared to be just a load of fun for both the audience and the band. There were (mostly) women dancing at both sides of the stage for the whole show. The place was totally packed. Several encores. Now if we could just see the band in a club setting ! Hey Laura, next time maybe u can play up in Santa Fe -- I'm sure the clubs up there (maybe the Paramount) would love to have ya! And we got to stay in Socorro overnite and visit the Bosque del Apache the next day and see lots of sandhill cranes, 2 whooping cranes, tons of bald and golden eagles, lotsa ducks and snow geese etc etc. Then we drove west of the town on a dirt road where we got to see 3 nice herds of pronghorn antelope romping. Althogether a fine couple days, with Laura's concert certainly the high point! Does anyone know where she plays next?
