I do hope that she'll play Iota (and that I'll be able to get off of work if she does!). - -- Deb \\ indigo@mindspring.com \\ http://www.mindspring.com/~indigo ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Nov 1998 15:50:14 -0500 From: Charles Griswold Subject: Re: [octoroon] tour dates > If anyone learns where the RI venue is please post it. I didn't hear the request either but I suspect it was "Punctured and Hissing" because she made a similar remark to me beforehand. The shows I saw were all great, each very different. Monterey was a rock club with a rock club sound mix; Santa Cruz was the big, young, free-form dancing crowd -- and the best concert sound experience. Davis was the respectful family folk, a sit-down crowd who managed a vibrant chair dance or two. Most heads were bopping when I looked around. What I love about Laura is her ability to bring so many different kinds of people together. She's got a great audience. Also I love that she is so lacking in pretension. She is fully herself on stage. Barbara made a different statement each night in the shoe department. In Davis she had a rubber cockroach tied to her shoe with string, some kind of inside joke about the prior evening's accomodations, I gathered. They were these wild, glamourous black high heels with three or four ankle straps going up her leg. But I digress. - --Kathryn ------------------------------ End of octoroon-digest V1 #65 *****************************
