I really didn't think they sounded all that great at Summerfest, maybe because of the sound and being outdoors and such...maybe because of the way they tried to reproduce their album live...but the album is very cool. >From: "Nicole Killian" >To: fte@smoe.org, navy-soup@smoe.org >Subject: the deers >Date: Mon, 30 Jun 2003 17:50:33 -0400 >MIME-Version: 1.0 >X-Originating-IP: [64.236.233.180] >X-Originating-Email: [fumblbee23@hotmail.com] >Received: from mc5-f34.law1.hotmail.com ([65.54.252.41]) by >mc5-s19.law1.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.5600); Mon, 30 Jun >2003 14:51:43 -0700 >Received: from smoe.org ([199.201.145.78]) by mc5-f34.law1.hotmail.com with >Microsoft SMTPSVC(5.0.2195.5600); Mon, 30 Jun 2003 14:51:42 -0700 >Received: from smoe.org (ident-user@localhost [127.0.0.1])by smoe.org >(8.12.8/8.12.8) with ESMTP id h5ULogIN011738for >; Mon, 30 Jun 2003 17:50:42 -0400 (EDT) >Received: (from majordom@localhost)by smoe.org (8.12.8/8.12.8/Submit) id >h5ULogwb011736for navy-soup-outgoing; Mon, 30 Jun 2003 17:50:42 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from hotmail.com (bay7-f61.bay7.hotmail.com [64.4.11.61]) by >smoe.org (8.12.8/8.12.8) with ESMTP id h5ULodIN011658; Mon, 30 Jun 2003 >17:50:39 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from mail pickup service by hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC; >Mon, 30 Jun 2003 14:50:33 -0700 >Received: from 64.236.233.180 by by7fd.bay7.hotmail.msn.com with HTTP; >Mon, 30 Jun 2003 21:50:33 GMT >X-Message-Info: MxAodtZPLiQ6HPHOc8rBiXjgUFkT69DC >Message-ID: >X-OriginalArrivalTime: 30 Jun 2003 21:50:33.0390 (UTC) >FILETIME=[A1AD5CE0:01C33F51] >X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.7 required=5.0 tests=FROM_ENDS_IN_NUMS >version=2.53 >X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.53 (1.174.2.15-2003-03-30-exp) >Sender: owner-navy-soup@smoe.org >Precedence: bulk >Return-Path: owner-navy-soup@smoe.org > >does anyone know where i can get more info on The Dears (The Deers?) I was there too...unfortunately, my friend and I arrived at 4. I guess Sarah must have gone on right at 3 because we missed her! :( Sucks because she's the main reason we wanted to go. Rufus I had seen twice before, though at Summerstage he wasn't AS good as those previous two times, but only because I guess he'd been away from touring for a bit and couldn't remember half his songs! :) It was totally forgivable. He's such a male diva...he makes the funniest diva-ish comments...(including one about wanting to shoot the birds so they'd stop chirping while he was playing) heehe... But I've never been disappointed because I love his voice and his songs. As always it was also great to hear Martha (his sister) sing. Rufus mentioned she'd be playing somewhere on the Monday night but I missed the name of the club. I searched high and low to find a listing for it because I'm just as big a fan of hers as I am of Rufus. Couldn't find anything. Did anyone happen to see this show?
