The place was packed, Sarah was in top form for her short opening set, and the crowd was clearly wowed. The two women next to us at our table were so taken by her performance that they went straight to the merchandise concession to buy a copy of Night Bugs as soon as Sarah's set ended. Blue Rodeo played for two hours, and were joined by Sarah for one song, the name of which escapes me now (argh). I've been living outside of Canada for over four years but I still recognized nearly every song - it's amazing how many hits that band has had over the years. Funny though, I was so sick of hearing their songs on every radio station when I lived in Canada that I had zero interest in buying their CDs or seeing their shows, but tonight after being away for so long, they sounded great! I brought my new camera and this was my first time experimenting with the settings at a concert. There was no flash photography allowed so I had to do my best to shoot with a steady hand. I posted a few shots at NikonNet, which is also a first for me so I hope the URL works. I didnt know she joined the band later on! we had to leave early because my friend had to catch a train back to Long Island. That sucks! Did she sing California? because it looks like it. lol We sat in the back i think same row as that guy in the picture wearing red plaid shirt. I remember him because he seems to be enjoying the show. =) The four women who sat in our table could'nt stop talking and laughing during Slean's set. Maybe it's just me but i wanted to choke them! But nevertheless i enjoyed the show. It was a differernt sound without the whole band, which was nice as well. John was great! yeea the place was nice. except the chair i sat in was broken and i kept on falling out, and the waitress kept hitting on my friend. It was her first time hearing Slean, she said she like it and she's definitly comin with me to the Central Park show. =) It's always nice to hear that she gained new fans (no suprise) patty 2003.carnivore99@verizon.net wrote: > BB Kings is an upscale room in Times Square with an atmosphere that > seemed a bit extravagant a band like Blue Rodeo, but other than that > it was a terrific venue.
