Subject: Sarah on CBC *SOON* -- and promotion in general

How often is Sarah Slean on TV or radio or something and I just don't know
about it? There's been even a few tour dates (Indigo, Hart House [ both in
Toronto ] ) where it's not even listed on her web site.. It drives me
insane!!!

SOOooo I do you all a favour by letting you know that Sarah Slean is on CBC
Radio One sometime between 4 and 6pm Eastern Time.

I can't find any info about it at cbc.ca.

first, someone mentioned the news mailing list at warner canada -- thank 
you for pointing that out since i'd missed it before. while signing up, i 
suddenly remembered sarahs-universe -- the old newsletter list. is that 
officially kaput? you can still sign up for that through sarahslean.com 
<url: http://sarahslean.com/inter_mailinglist.html >. i still seem to be a 
member but i haven't gotten anything from it in ages so it would seem to be 
dead, but it would be nice to know for sure, especially since the current 
website implies that it's still functional.

second, at the risk of beating a dead horse, an opinion on the matter dan 
raised. feel free to ignore; i'm not trying to stir up trouble -- just 
blabbing my view on the matter.

i'd say that's a fairly poor assumption since most people who are fans of 
sarah slean are likely to be connoisseurs of many musicians and thus not 
have enough time to check all the websites of the musicians they like. i 
know i don't.

i only knew about the fez gig ahead of time since i happened to swing by 
fez earlier in the week for another show and saw slean on their upcoming 
shows board. as it was, i couldn't go and promptly forgot to mention it 
here -- mea culpa, dan and leif.

if it were really complementary, news would be posted here in addition to 
the website, imho. if slean, label and management want to get the word out 
about stuff, they should use all available avenues to do so. that means 
push (e-mail) and pull (web).
