Anyway, you can find more info on Ms. Fresh Monkey Brain at: http://www.simonwilcox.com/music.html She crafts a good song, genetics helps I guess, and works with great folks (I adore Jorane's work), but there's just something missing from her stuff; great songs, great lyrics, great voice though, but I can't seem to really embrace her albums. > can download mp3's of Andrea's at > http://www.andreaflorian.com/audio_samples/audio_samples.htm I was > looking to see what's playing in Toronto the weekend I will be there and > I saw that Andrea Florian was having a cd release at Hugh's Room and > thought I'd check her music out first... I've always liked John Switzer's production and its been a year of change for Andrea so I'm hoping to see something new and exciting. She's super nice, as well as being 'awesome', so I'm hoping the album does well. I'm wondering if anyone knows the name of the episode her song appeared on (anyone know what song?), and/or what season it was... I really want to catch it because I believe it aired before I knew who Sarah was (yes there was a day) Also, anyone know when her Mike Bullard appearance will re-air? My VCR has a tendency to automatically re - set itself to the WRONG time so I lost the last 5-10 minutes of the show, which, conveniently enough, was when she appeared! :( Let us know! It was the season three episode "The Anti-Prom" (#322, but tecnically - ep #57) and it was "My Invitation" that was played. Here's a link to some info about it - http://www.dawsonscreekmusic.com/music/eps322.shtml A lot of great music was played in that episode - Sarah, Heather Nova, Chantal Kreviazuk, Wild Colonials, Julie Plug, etc. :) - - Tilly ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Apr 2003 21:04:46 -0500 From: "Neal Jennings" Subject: Re: slean tv appearances hmm ok... in that case, by my calculations, the episode should re-air on Friday April 18th at 8am. That's provided that TBS runs its regular schedule on GOod Friday, and that there are no other delays or pre-emptions between now and then. I remember that episode, it was a really good one!!! I'm dying to see it again! :) Thanks!!! And I'll let everyone know if it changes - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: ; Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 8:48 PM Subject: Re: slean tv appearances > In a message dated 04/01/2003 8:25:12 PM Eastern Standard Time, > nj01aa@badger.ac.brocku.ca writes: > > > ). Hope you like her! take care! ~nicole Well, I just so happen to be Andrea's temporary manager/publicist (heh), so I can vouch for Nicole on this one. :) Her new album is finally done after 3 long years of hard work, and it is really lovely. I think a lot of folks on the Slean and Emm lists will enjoy it... John Switzer, who produced several of Jane Siberry's classic albums, was behind the boards, and has underscored Andrea's pristine vocals with some really interesting sounds. I think the record is a real step up for her, definitely moving forward from the more acoustic/folk-oriented sound of her first four albums. There's a track on the new record that's almost ambient pop-sounding ("Still Standing"). Very cool. :) Anyhow, I hope everyone in and around the Toronto area will come check out her CD release party at Hugh's Room April 26th. Aside from being an early birthday celebration for yours truly (heh), the album will be available for the very first time at the show. For those of you who can't make it to the concert, the record will be available via Andrea's website (andreaflorian.com), MapleMusic.com, and CDBaby beginning the end of April. If anyone wants any more info about the record, the show, or Andrea's music itself, feel free to give me a shout. Cheers, - - Tab. _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: smart spam protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ------------------------------ End of navy-soup-digest V6 #48 ******************************
