I thought it was funny when the bass player (I think it was him) mentioned California at the encore... and everyone cheered...they couldn't play it because the song has copyright stuff to go through. Anyway, from what we saw at the show it was great.... security were very nice. Sarah and the band were nice enough to talk with some of us fans after the show. It was a great night. -Kruno - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MSN 8 with e-mail virus protection service: 2 months FREE* ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2003 02:29:05 -0500 From: "T Taitt" Subject: nyc show i think that the assumption here is that anyone who is a big enough fan of sarah's to join her mailing list is probably also checking her site on a semi-regular basis. navy soup is a great compliment to sarah's website but it's not intended as a replacement for it. the tour page on any artist's website is really the best place to be looking for showdates. if i really really wanted to see someone play, i wouldn't depend on anyone else to let me know! just my two cents. sorry you missed it though. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2003 00:29:45 -0700 From: Blu and Katie Belsher Subject: Re: Is there anybody out there? hey dan. if i am not mistaken, i think that this a fan list, not a tour date informer. so we dont always post tour dates. sometimes people do... sometimes they dont. i think most of us are canadians also, so we dont necessarily get excited when she isnt in our area. i think you may want to sign up with a few other mailing lists. i think warner music has one for her that post dates. http://www.warnermusic.ca/canada/sarahslean/index.jhtml another place you can go, is www.pollstar.com you sign up, and pick some artists you want to keep up to date with, and they email you when new tour dates are posted for them. (its free up to 5 artists) so dont complain, you control it. (geez.... i guess i dont have to be an ass.) anyways, enjoy life. blu ps. i will send to everyone so that if people dont know about either of those sites, they can be well suited for next time. again... (since it cant be over used, and is utterly essential...) enjoy life. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dan_Stark" To: "Navy Soup" Sent: Sunday, March 30, 2003 9:32 PM Subject: RE: Is there anybody out there? > Herb ladrillo wrote: > >Yeah she was in New York. Also, www.pollstar.com offers a (somewhat) free service, where for I believe it's up to three artists you get sent an e-mail each and every time their tour schedule is updated. I'm subscribed on there, and it's updated fairly regularly! This is the Juno webcast she did. http://music.sympatico.ca/fa/sarahslean/# This was last week here in Toronto. The show was great, i was 2 feet away from her!!! lotsa love! herb ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2003 21:08:03 -0500 From: leif Subject: Re: nyc show hey wait a minute...if there is info on sarah that you know about, don't you want to share in case your fellow fans aren't aware? never ever assume. when you think about it...what's the point of going to a website, see an "updated added tour date" and just go "oh i'm in toronto and not in nyc so i don't give a flying **** about it"?? apparently, dan wasn't the only person who missed this show. i missed it. jennifer missed it. and i know for a fact that some other ppl missed it as well b/c i talked to some of them at the vienna teng house concert i was at on sunday. and they said they wished they knew. so not everyone checks the website on a 'semi-regular' basis. and knowing dan, if he had known about the show, he would have cross-posted to other lists and tons more ppl would have known about the show and gave sarah an even bigger crowd (it's called grass-roots). aren't we here to support her? i don't think the point was to place blame on anyone, we were just really disappointed we missed a show in our area b/c she isn't here that often. we are also all fans of a lot of other artists...does that mean we should go to every artists' website every other day? we would never get any work done! i'm not saying that the mailing list should be the only source for info, but it is a big part of getting word around. it just helps your fellow fans! :) i'm on quite a few other mailing lists and it is a main source of upcoming tour dates for me personally. not only do ppl on other mailing lists posts about tour dates and/or tv/radio appearances, you have ppl posting reminders...and then REMINDERS after that! get it? there's spirit there, that's all! btw, i am on pollstar and there was no word on sarah's show...i guess i'll have to sign up on the warner mailing list too, tks blu! toodles ~ leif ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 31 Mar 2003 18:29:04 -0800 (PST) From: patty Subject: Re: nyc show sorry you guys missed it, next time i'll be sure to remind everyone. I didn't mean to assume. I think that would explain why I was the only one there taking pictures. I do see that there's less Sarah fans than last time and I think she would've done an encore for us if more of her fans were here, because after she left the stage no one yelled encore like i expected. I should've but i'm too damn shy. Even though she didn't have lots of support, Sarah did gained many new fans that night, including my friend. There were people coming up to her buying her CDs and etc. Everyone there enjoyed her show. Yahoo!
