I'd just like to say that I saw Sarah for the second time here in good old Edmonton, Alberta and she was amazing! Especially since the pedal on her keyboard didn't work for the first three songs! She played at West Edmonton Mall in the Chapters bookstore for about 50 minutes and I think there was only about 50 people or so to see her. The setlist was: Everything by the Gallon Duncan Vertigo (at this point she got fed up with the unworking pedal and decided to go acapella) Sweet Ones (with a fabulous chorus about pedals when they finally brought her one mid-song from Mr. Entertainment) Eliot Book Smart, Street Stupid She was very entertaining with friendly banter with the audience. She said that she felt she was playing in someone's rec room with the flourescent lights and all. Then she told stories about having to bring her piano home and set it up in the basement for her grandparents. It was a lot different seeing her this time, that's for sure, seeing as I was only about 6 feet away from her! I got some great pictures and I said hello and she was charming as usual. And (yay!) she's coming back to Edmonton in November and playing at the Power Plant (a club/bar/lounge type thing). SO I'll have to keep my ears open for that! Anyway, I was also wondering if anyone could post or send me the lyrics to Sarah's Weezer cover, Butterfly? It would be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks! Kristilyn ***** hello to the ghost of the eighty eight my favorite canadian mess remembered the sound of the galaxy and came here expecting no less... ***** kroberts@connect.ab.ca http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Cabaret/1279 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Oct 2002 18:51:55 -0700 (PDT) From: twodimensiongirl Subject: Re: Sarah in Edmonton When did Sarah cover Butterfly by Weezer?? Very very cool, Weezer is one of my favourite bands. Here are the lyrics btw: Yesterday I went outside With my momma's mason jar Caught a lovely Butterfly When I woke up today And looked in on my fairy pet She had withered all away No more sighing in her breast I'm sorry for what I did I did what my body told me to I didn't mean to do you harm But everytime I pin down what I think I want it slips away - the ghost slips away I smell you on my hand for days I can't wash away your scent if I'm a dog then you're a bitch I guess you're as real as me maybe I can live with that maybe I need fantasy a life of chasing Butterfly I told you I would return When the robin makes his nest but I ain't never comin' back I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry Hope that helps! =) ~wini Y! Navy Soupers, Seeing as the official site hasn't listed these latest Edmonton / Vancouver / Toronto shows, would anyone with a schedule be much inclined to post a tour itinerary? I have a feeling I missed her somehow as she crossed the prairies... on an unrelated note, Emm Gryner and Adam Stochansky are performing in Regina in four days. I'm going to check that show out for sure! I have an Emm CD and I've listened to Adam's music, and I'm sure the shows for both will be great. later, kyall ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Oct 2002 20:59:08 -0700 From: "nicole gilbertson" Subject: Re: A tour itinerary? if you check the message board on the sarah slean website... I think some fans have posted tour dates in their respective cities. I think ticketmaster has a few dates also. This is what I know: November 22nd - 8pm Westend Cultural Center (Winnipeg) November 27th - 8pm Richard's on Richard's (Vancouver) Anyone who knows anything else can add to that. take care! ~nik _________________________________________________________________ Broadband?
