It was so nice to see Sarah as the main act at the Sean o Sullivan this year (I met her last year after I saw her open for Sarah Harmer, she was amazing then too ^_^) The show was great! My sister and I had excellent seats (not that there are really any bad seats at the SOS). It was my sister's first Slean show and she was amazed at the performance that Sarah gave. Two of her favourite things about it were the fact that the whole mood was very intimate, Sarah interacted very personally with the crowd (my sister is used to going to huge stadium shows) and how Sarah uses a "less is more" approach to the secondary aspects of a show. If you notice, her clothing is generally very dark in colour, quite simply elegant. Her band is generally a small number of good performers. It is her artform that is the selling point, not her coreography and pyrotechnics and such. Good Show! Any other navy soupers there???? Tvashtri Yahoo! Well, Slean news seems to be rather slow (what is the status of a possible American release? Is it going to happen or can I buy a copy of Nightbugs from Canada? I've been waiting to support the US release) so in any case I thought I'd post this. I was browsing MP3.com, as I'm want to do and ran across an artist, who sort of reminds me of Slean. And even if she doesn't remind you of Slean, I think she's good. Nothing At All is a beautiful song. The third song down on MP3 was the one that reminded me of Sarah the most. I hope this doesn't come off as some lame e-team thing, I honestly JUST listened to her on MP3.com and thought of you guys. http://www.mp3.com/lindi I could be behind the times and you may have all heard of her already, if in that case many apologies! I'd highly recommend it :) Jess www.jessicaweiser.com / www.aftersilence.net new album AFTER SILENCE available now! ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Sep 2002 19:34:06 -0400 From: "Kelly Goodlad" Subject: Re: Positively Slean-like, I think. >http://www.mp3.com/lindi Hey, I know her. She's from Toronto too! Did you know? I agree, she's excellent. Especially in live performance. And on that note, someone else, er, has a page up on mp3.com... I wonder who it could be... ;) (me) Kelly _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com ------------------------------ End of navy-soup-digest V5 #146 *******************************
