I was walking through the halls of our university and lo and behold, there were posters: "A440 Presents Sarah Slean, July 19". A little stunned, i quickly scanned my brain...what am i doing on friday?...i had to work but i could probably get off. I had learned of Sarah Slean through listening to Sarah Harmer, and I bought Night Bugs (my first Slean CD) a few months ago. After rushing to get off work early i proceeded towards Artspace, an art gallery, where Sarah would be playing in about half-an-hour. When i arrived at Artspace the place was sold out, but there was standing room. Sarah came on and was incredible. I've been to concerts before, but this one was special, the gallery gave it a real quaint feeling, like a coffee house performance. Sarah apparently also liked the atmosphere as she commented on the art gallery (Something like 'this is great, can i come back tomorrow? we have art galleries in Toronto but we don't do this'). She was amazing, captivating, and funny (making a joke about playing Hooligans in Canmore the next day). If i had had my doubts about Sarah Slean before, I definitely don't anymore, this was one of my favorite concert-going experiences ever! I hope she comes back in October! L. To Kristilyn Robertson: they are selling shirts, but I'm not sure what the prices are... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Jul 2002 22:36:26 -0600 From: "kyall glennie" Subject: Re: Sarah concert > I'm going to my very first Sarah concert on Thursday (I know you can't > tell, but I am so supremely excited!) and I was just wondering if there was > any merchandise being sold at the shows and if so, how much? Women's shirts are $17, a long sleeve unisex shirt with Eliot chorus lyrics on the front, with black sleeves and white body, is $20. Of course, the music is there to purchase, but I don't recall the prices because I own everything to purchase already. Oh, of course, there are the "Sweet Ones" women's undies. Don't recall their prices either. :) hth, kyall ------------------------------ End of navy-soup-digest V5 #124 *******************************
