I'm the one that dragged Julian to go see Stephen when he played NXNE. It's too bad more people didn't come out to see him. Personally, I have gone out of my way to see Stephen. He reminds me a lot of the Jim Croce and James Taylor songs that I grew up with. He's one of those artists that I have to sit back and wonder why he's not signed to some big record label. I guess it's because he doesn't normally dress like Britney and writhe around onstage. As someone who is surprisingly biased toward female singer-songwriters these days, I wholeheartedly recommend Stephen Kellogg. If you're looking for some angst-ridden song about a broken heart, try country radio. If you want to watch a good musician with a good voice, check out Stephen. To be honest, if I go to this show, it will be because Stephen is playing (with the chance to also catch Sarah). Oh, and if you want to hear some of Stephen's work, head on over to http://www.stephenkellogg.com. Check out the multimedia section and try a couple of the songs there. I'm actually surprised he -hasn't- been signed especially given the relative popularity of Pete Yorn, Howie Day, John Mayer, Ryan Adams, et al. He definitely deserves to be. >I guess it's because he doesn't normally dress like Britney and writhe >around onstage. doesn't his solo synchronized dancing count for anything?! ;) elizabeth _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ------------------------------ End of navy-soup-digest V5 #117 *******************************
