Here's the setlist 01. New Song - Intro thingie? / Eliot 02. Duncan 03. Bank Accounts 04. St. Francis 05. The Difference Is Why (Lenny Kravitz cover) 06. My Invitation 07. Me, I'm a Thief 08. The Score 09. Book Smart, Street Stupid 10. Vertigo 11. Sweet Ones 12. Drastic Measures 13. Weight Encore 14. Blue Parade 15. Edelweiss 16. Playing Cards With Judas AwesomeAwesome set.. She stood up and didn't play any instruments during The Difference Is Why... Vertigo was sung with her sitting on a stool (I believe) accompanied by the string section and an acoustic guitar. Playing Cards With Judas was rather - suitably since she's in a church - demonic..with a big ole' "you have to know the devil to know god" addon near the end... :) After the show I met her and I had my lyric guesses to California written out.. she corrected them for me. :) So here you go.. I went to California I met a lovely man He rubs a wedding finger Without a wedding band Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-ohhhh He knows better anyhow His kisses are just all in his eyes Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-ohhhh I know better, I know better Still I wish I was by your side By your side The taxi, open window The summer on the wind I'd ask about a lover But how would I begin? (Repeat chorus twice) :) - - Ian ------------------------------ Date: 28 Apr 2002 13:12:39 -0400 From: "Julian C. It was so wonderful to have the whole band there, including the violinist, cellist and trumpet player. Even without them, though, she was radiant; her performance of "Me, I'm A Thief" was just heart-stoppingly beautiful. It puts the album edition to shame. I thought the introduction was just a variation upon the instrumental track, Dark Room, which appears on the album? > AwesomeAwesome set.. I suspect it was set up that way and this was a bit of an act, but humourous nonetheless. Thank you Ian for contributing those lyrics to California! Anyway, It was so nice to catch up with folks I hadn't seen in a while, including Tab, Steve Ito, Rannie, Chelle, Jay, and our American friends Nicole and Chad who came up specifically for this event.
