I normally gaze in the window anyways, because they always have such yummy looking displays with lots of imported British chocolate (mmmmm). However, tonight I was stopped in my tracks because, yep, the shop had a whole Sarah & Nightbugs display in their window ... !!! (No Joke!!) .... I'm talking about a bunch of the new funky posters, a few copies of the Nightbugs CD, and even a sign reading "How Sweet is Sarah?" (awwww) ...Oh, and two CD shaped chocolate thingys with "Sarah Slean" written in icing on one and "Nightbugs" on the other. All this was arranged amidst the normal Easter type displays of chocolate bunnies and the like. Yes, REALLY!! So, now I really need to know: Is there a connection between Sarah and the chocolate shop? or is it that the shop is run by people with excellent musical taste? or is this part of the yummiest marketing campaign of all time? The shop was closed, so I couldn't get in to ask. Has anyone else seen this? If I'm up that way I'll try and remember to take a picture... At the big Night Bugs Premiere last year Sarah (and her faery pals) handed out bug-shaped samples of the chocolates. Which was very, um, sweet of her. :-) James. ========================================================================== James McGarry | jmcgarry@UoGuelph.CA - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- An artist should be fit for the best society and keep out of it. - - John Ruskin ========================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Mar 2002 01:49:20 From: "Tab Siddiqui" Subject: Re: Sarah and the chocolate shop The most wonderous Mari wrote: >So here's the thing: I was walking up Yonge Street today and passed >this chocolate shop just south of the Eaton Centre. My little brother and I were walking on Yonge St. a week and a half ago, and he stopped and pointed to the Nutty Chocolatier's window and said, "Hey, Sarah Slean - isn't that that girl you know?" ;) Adorable. I was just besides myself with how cute the window display was. Sarah's mum and dad have every right to be proud. Yay. :) Everyone in T.O. should go check it out - and don't forget to actually go *in* and gaze in jaw-dropping wonder at the immense variety of chocolate goodness. (Oh, and say hi to the Sleans while you're at it. ;)) James wrote: >There are pictures here: > >http://www.thenuttychocolatier.com > >I'm not certain they are from the Toronto store at Yonge St., but most >of >the stores look very similar inside. If I'm up that way I'll try and >remember to take a picture... Hmm... Looks like it could be, but James is right, all the stores in the (small) chain do look the same, obviously. I actually didn't realize until last year, when I stumbled upon the Beaches location, that the Nutty Chocolatier was even a chain - the Sleans' store is just so small and sweet (sorry ;)) and unique that I thought it was an indie. Then again, I didn't even know it was the Sleans' store until last year, so go figure. :P >At the big Night Bugs Premiere last year Sarah (and her faery pals) >handed >out bug-shaped samples of the chocolates.
