Hey, guys... I'm glad I caught this in time so that some of you can listen. 'Bandwidth' is an amazing CBC Radio program geared towards the singer-songwriter side of things - it's basically very much in tune with the whole Ontario indie scene, stuff that most folks on this list like. Today, they've got an interview with Sarah plus a concert from earlier this year when she opened for Danny Michel at the wonderful Black Sheep Inn in Wakefield, Quebec. Actually, today's entire show is full of crazy incestuous Toronto links - for example, the new artist showcase with Kat Goldman, who opened for Sarah last March at the Rivoli (I'm not a fan of her painfully self-conscious music, but apparently it works better on record, and a lot of locals seem to think she's, uh, *poetic* ;)). For those of you who want to listen on the 'Net, point your browsers to: http://www.ottawa.cbc.ca/bandwidth (More info below.) - - Tab :) >Sarah Sleen briefly toyed with being a doctor but the music muse won >out. Sarah's early love for musicals is evident in her beautifully >crafted songs. She sings them with passion and wit. Sarah Sleen is >our >featured artist this week. We'll hear her in her own words and in >concert. > >Graphic designer Michael Wrycraft joins the Bandwidth team this week as >the "Designated Fan". I meant to post about this ages ago, but remembered when Nettwerk sent their monthly update to the FTE list - some of you might remember singer-songwriter Dayna Manning from Lilith Fair. She's doing a residency in March at a local blues club (not sure why exactly, she hasn't changed her sound all that much). Info is below. I went to Nettwerk's private CMW showcase with both Dayna and Maren Ord yesterday, and it was really nice, low-key. Cool to see a dinner-hour show at C'est What. :) - - Tab :) >Dayna Manning is performing a residency at Blues On Bellair in >Toronto on Tuesday evenings throughout March, doing a show at both >9:30pm and 11pm.
