Here's my little list: 2001 was such a mixed bag musically for me.A lot of new records by established artists left me dissapointed. Thankfully, a lot of new artists stepped in to keep me occupied. So, in honor of the mixed bag of albums, here are my favorites and the biggest dissapointments of 2001: Favorites (in order): 1.The Herethereafter - Miranda Richards 2.Carnival Love - Amy Correia 3.Motherland - Natalie Merchant 4.Mary's Daughter - Cameron Dezen (re-issue w/new tracks) 5. Steady Pull - Jonatha Brooke 6. Mobilize - Grant-Lee Phillips 7. Whole New You - Shawn Colvin 8. Trouble in Shangri-La - Stevie Nicks 9. Brilliant Midnight - Caroline Lavelle 10. Outrospective - Faithless 11. Films For Radio - Over The Rhine The most dissapointing albums have to be: 1. beautifulgarbage - Garbage 2. Wake Up and Smell The Coffee - Cranberries 3. This Way - Jewel 4. Strange Little Girls - Tori Amos 5. Vespertine - Bjork 6. I Tried To Rock You But You Only Roll - Leona Naess (sorry guys!) That isn't to say I thought these albums were bad (with the possible exception of This Way - besides Standing Still it's not very good) but they left me wanting after repeat listens. So what albums are people looking forward to in 2002? There are a lot of CD's in 2002 that I'm looking forward to. A lot of them are CD's that haven't been released in the US yet. White Lilies Island - Natalie Imbruglia I've heard most of it already and I can't wait to get the actual CD. South - Heather Nova I have it in bootlegs. It is a little dissapointing, but I look forward to having the actual CD as it has a lot of positive things about it Love Is Here - Starsailor I really like this album. Under Rug Swept - Alanis Morrisette Nightbug Orchestra - Sarah Slean Speed of Life - Silverman And the new albums from William Orbit (supposed to have a guest vocal from Dido!,) Sarah Mclachlan (the wait is killing me and it may not come till 2003!), Dido (ditto,) Beth Orton and Abra Moore.
