Has anyone seen Sarah Harmer on this latest leg of her tour (as in, the last week or so)? Because she was playing last night in her hometown of Kingston, and usual cohort Kevin Fox was *here*, in Toronto, hosting an open mike at the Art Bar! How very odd... Anyone know if she's changed her band for the latest tour? That would be terribly disappointing, as the last incarnation, with Kevin on bass and cello and BG vocals, plus John Obercian on drums and Gord Tough on guitar, was quite sublime, and having played together for so long, it was like second nature to them. As good as Kevin is when he plays with *anyone*, including his superlative, legendary time with both Emm and Slean, he was *meant* to play with Sarah H. I can't even imagine anyone else singing with her - I get annoyed even *thinking* about it (even if James used to feverently will Kevin to stop overtaking the choruses in 'Don't Get Your Back Up'). ;) I guess I'm just kind of hoping the new band (if there is one?) isn't the backing players she had with her for the Letterman appearance - not only did I not recognize any of them, I didn't particularly think they sounded all that great. And good heavens, I hope usual Harmer soundman Marty Kinack (Transistor Sound & Lighting Co.) isn't providing useless keyboard plinking like he was during the BNL tour last summer... Oi. :P Anyhow, if anyone's seen any of the recent shows, so weigh in, please! Also, look for Sarah on MuchMusic at 3 pm Monday, Nov. 26th... Looking forward to a Harmer weekend in Toronto, - - Tab :) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2001 18:13:19 -0500 From: "Rory Sweeting" Subject: Re: OAC: Sarah Harmer Hiya - Rory here in Kingston. To hopefully ease your fears, Sarah H.'s shows are actually tonight and tomorrow night, so Kevin may be there. I'm going to tonight's show - yay!!! The only band change that I'm aware of is that Bif Henderson is not touring with them. His lack of dancing skill was seen as a drawback by Ms. Harmer's management ;-) I'll probably write a review of the show tonight and pass it along to you fine folks.
