Hey All, I equally would like to check in with you all....my regrets to those who may be effected by this terrible act. Today, in my Advanced Placement English class, they announced the news over the P.A. and everyone freaked out. For the rest of the day, the whole school watched Television, and chilled. It was definatly a scary day in American History. I'll be teaching about this in about 5 years. Goodnight. -Vincenzo- ===================== Sent by Xmail www.Xmail.com Get your free mail account at www.xmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Sep 2001 12:43:29 +1000 From: "Sara B" Subject: Re: Rocha-Cha....Checkin In.... I, too, am absolutely stunned by these attacks. I think we're all very shocked because until this incident, a lot of the major violence in the world (bombings, massacres, etc.) has taken place on other continents, and we've grown very complacent -- even smug, I would say -- in our safety. We've grown accustomed to living in one of the safest countries in the world (that statement applies to both Canada and the U.S.) and something like this just completely shatters that artificial notion. This article sheds some interesting light on "how this could have happened": http://www.thestar.ca/NASApp/cs/ContentServer?pagename=thestar/Layout/Article_Ty pe1&c=Article&cid=1000245817416&call_page=TS_World&call_pageid=968332188854&call _pagepath=News/World&col=968350060724 I think the question that everyone's asking is "what is going to happen next?" in the sense of, how is the U.S. going to retaliate, particularly with that idiot Dubya at the helm. I just fear he's going to go completely off his rocker and bomb Afghanistan or something, or do something else which could start a world conflict. I don't trust that there are enough sane people in his administration to stop that, if push came to shove. - - Julian [ Julian C.
