I know the subject is long since dead, but I wanted to get my voice and opinion heard. I love it. It's a redundant statement, but it's a huge sign of maturing. It's good to hear something new, it helps to look at songs in a new light. I'd be perfectly willing to admit if I didn't like it and it's just not happening. From the first time I played this thing the voice caught me in such a way it reminded me of the first time I heard her. Her voice had heart before. Now it has heart and SOUL. The voice suits the new songs superbly, especially "Book Smart..." Re-invention is the key to leading a sucessful career, not just money-wise, but also so you don't start to bore yourself. As long as you do it for yourself and you're happy with it, of course. I've been lurking for sometime and reading all the for's and against's weighing in about Sarah and her "new voice", and I haven't been able to say anything because I hadn't heard the new EP yet. And to be honest, I really wasn't going to fork out 8 or 9 bucks to hear one song reworked, 2 new songs, and 4 old songs I already have on other CD's. But my girlfriend came across the EP in a bargain used CD bin for 50 cents, and it turned out to be the deal of the century! I have to say I agree with Coz and the people who like the "new voice". I have been a Sarah fan for a good while now, but I honestly don't see what all the discussion is about. I was expecting something really drastic and horrid about her voice the way everyone was all up and arms about it. But I really don't hear what everyone is complaining about. In fact, "Book Smart" and "Sweet Ones" are my two favorite songs on the disc. Sure, it may sound a little different, but I don't think the new sound is so different that it would make me consider not buying her new full length when it comes out. If anything, now I'm more looking forward to it. And I'm also looking forward to seeing her and Sarah Harmer in Rochester, which we just purchased tickets for this past weekend and are driving 5 hours from Cleveland for next month!
