Currently I`m in the small Quhbec city of Trois-Rivihres and I know we have an HMV here, but I`m wondering if the EP is available in stores such as that or only in Indie places?? I bought the Universe EP and Blue Parade album from the web site, so I don`t know how commerically available Sarah`s music is. Thanks for any hints!! kyall (looking forward to tomorrow afternoon...) _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Jul 2001 12:42:01 From: "Kyall Glennie" Subject: EP: Available everywhere? Was it a promo/used thing or did someone just jump >the gun shelving it? I found it at a local independent record store (in southeastern pennsylvania). I had gone in last week to ask if they would be getting it in, and the woman I talked to didn't think they would be (hadn't heard of her, etc). So I told her a little bit about Sarah and she wrote down her name. When I went back on Saturday, they told me they got it in and were holding one behind the counter for me. :) Happy little me. So someone just jumped the gun shelving it (there was actually another one out on the shelf AND I got the new Beta Band cd so it was quite the productive weekend). Elizabeth (There is a sticker on the wrapper that says "SARAH SLEAN featured on MURDER IN SMALL TOWN X. premiering this July on FOX"... so don't forget to watch that next week) _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Jul 2001 14:20:47 -0400 From: "Elizabeth Weber" Subject: Re: EP: Available everywhere? This will be Sarah's first release on Atlantic (Universe and Blue Parade were independent releases), so it should be commercially available. Generally speaking, it is a good idea to go into a record store at least a week before an album is due out to make sure they'll be getting it in (if the release is by someone relatively unknown). And if you don't find it Tuesday (you probably will), ask and I'm sure they'll be happy to get it in for you. Folky like Emm Gryner.... soft and subtle like Sarah Slean.....Hard and hitting like Joydrop.. Brooding/Deep/Dark/Beautiful like Radiohead......moving like Carole King or Joni Mitchell......Rough and tough like Curve or Kenicke......Ambienty with elements of Slowdive or Seefeel......asskickingly like the Czars or Garbage or Bijou Phillips...... written like Heather Nova...the perfect mix of all the elements, yet in a class all its own, cos it sounds NOTHING like that!!
