No Sarah content, but a recommendation for you Toronto folks: next Friday, March 30 at C'est What, as part of Canadian Music Week a musician from New York City named Rachael Sage will be peforming. I heartily exhort each and every one of you in that fair city to check her out. Rachael plays piano, and has been heavily influenced by the likes of Ani DiFranco and Elvis Costello. She uses intriguing instrumentation (the accordion is an essential part of her band), and her music shows Middle Eastern and other ethnic influences as well. Her third album, _Painting Of A Painting_ was just released this week, and I already know it's going to be right around the top of my list of the best of the year. There are plenty of sound samples off of her web site, http://www.rachaelsage.com. (I don't work for Rachael, yadda yadda yadda ... I just think y'all will dig her too. :) ======================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ======================================= ***!!!GO UCONN!!!*** ======================================= http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille ------------------------------ End of navy-soup-digest V4 #35 ******************************
