Sheesh. Heather. PS - You all did see the comment about tickets being available via maplemusic.com too, right? There are alternatives to Ticketmaster, and yes, tickets will be on sale at the door (unless we sell out in advance). ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 2 Feb 2001 11:41:10 -0500 From: "W. L. I've never bought tickets from maplemusic (living in North Carolina explains a great deal of this), but I've always had excellent service when I've bought cds from them. > Why Ticketmaster? How could we do this?!? Sure, Ticketmaster is aweful, but for many of us (e.g. those of us without credit cards who don't live in Toronto), they're about the only way to get tickets in advance. And wouldn't it be aweful to make the trek to TO only to find out that your concert experience will consist of peeking through the door as everyone else goes in. And why, you wonder is Ticketmaster so aweful? Because people still buy tickets from them. It's really that simple--and that complicated. Their customer service is, by all accounts, worse than it has a right to be, but it does exist. And remember, you don't have to pay the service charges. The fact that no one else will sell you tickets is irrelevant. > So our friends out of town can get tickets with the least possible hassle. > If I'm not mistaken, I think our friends in NY and MI can even buy them at > their local Ticketmaster outlets. I listen sometimes... :) Heather, while I won't be able to make these particular shows, it's these sorts of arrangements that would entice me to do it sometime in the future. Yes, if maplemusic will sell me tickets, I'll buy them there, but Ticketmaster does seem like the best alternative for many people. And yes, if maplemusic isn't able to sell tickets when I'm able to show up nmorth of the border, then I'll buy them from Ticketmaster if that's the only way to make sure I have a seat. In a word, Heather, "Thanks." - --Will ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 02 Feb 2001 19:40:40 +0000 From: carnivore@bigfoot.com (DanS) Subject: Re: Upcoming Toronto shows > I've got to say I'm feeling a little trashed by trying >to make things as easy on you all as possible. Nah, I think we all appreciate the opportunity to get advance tickets, it's just that we hate having to give money to the Evil Empire. We love trashing them, not you. ;) I missed the maplemusic.com option in the original post though, that one is MUCH appreciated! I'm trying to plan a trip back to the homeland to coincide with these shows, so we'll check out both options for our tix. Thanks!
