Just a quick note to let you know about two upcoming Toronto shows: Friday March 9th (Howie Beck opening) Saturday March 10th (Kat Goldman opening) Both shows are at The Rivoli - 332 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON Tickets for both shows are available at Ticketmaster (!) or via www.maplemusic.com. Why Ticketmaster? How could we do this?!? So our friends out of town can get tickets with the least possible hassle. If I'm not mistaken, I think our friends in NY and MI can even buy them at their local Ticketmaster outlets. And hey, we specifically worked for a Friday/Saturday night combo so our out-of-town pals could make a weekend of it if they wanted to. See?! I listen sometimes... :) As I know more, I'll pass along details regarding door, set times, etc. These are sure to be very special shows, as Sarah will be previewing much of the material from the new record. Hope to see you all there. Great joy, Heather. PS - For those of you not able to get to Toronto, there will be more touring! Please be patient! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 01 Feb 2001 22:35:02 -0500 From: meredith Subject: Re: Upcoming Toronto shows Hi! Heather posted: >Why Ticketmaster? There is no reason for them to charge the service charges they do, to provide the criminally low level of "customer service" that they do. That's the free market economy for you; companies will charge whatever they can to provide the least amount of service they can, in order to maximize their profits. I'm sure that's not news to you. Until somebody manages to set up a successful competitor to Ticketbastard that has the wide coverage area that they do, I don't expect the situation to change. Of course, nobody's forcing you to patronize them, and kudos for being able to hold out for seven years without doing so. To see certain artists I want to see, however, like Natalie Merchant, it's necessary to hold one's nose as there are no other alternatives. - - Julian [ Julian C. Yeah, Tickmaster *bought* the last group that did that -- tickets.com or ticketweb (or whatever). >Of course, nobody's forcing you to patronize them, and kudos for being >able to >hold out for seven years without doing so.
