Sorry you missed it, but the Northhampton date has been listed on the tour dates page on Sarah's site for quite awhile now. I would think that anyone on Navy-Soup would also be keeping abreast of news on the site on a fairly regular basis. I wouldn't depend solely on anyone's mailing list for news when they have such a detailed and up-to-date website. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 04 Jul 2000 01:13:26 -0400 (EDT) From: "Julian C. Okay, so just a second here, Meredith. You found this information out from sarahslean.com, is that correct? I don't want to come across as harsh / sound like I'm being patronizing here, as you can imagine, but I don't think that people on this list have an obligation to crosspost dates from the website to the list. If it's information you NEED to know about, e.g. you NEED to know when Sarah is playing, then all I can suggest is that you check the website regularly. I'm willing to bet that many Sarah fans here are in the Toronto-area, so that's why those shows get discussed more than other ones. Perhaps it's just due to a dearth of fans in your area that discussion about gigs in your area doesn't get posted to the list. - - Julian [ Julian C. Wasn't there an at one point in the not too distant past an official announcement mailing list? I know I remember getting constant updates about Sarah itinerary in my emailbox, and I wasn't on navy-soup at the time. (1a) i use mind-it to keep on top of pages which i'm particularly interested in. perhaps others who do not know about it might also find this free service useful. (i hadn't added sarah's tour page to my minded pages -- until now -- so bad me on this one.) (2) being an old school net.junkie, i'm disturbed by the trend to turn the web into the *only* source of information (this is particularly true in tori amos fandom). in the interest of getting the word out to as many people as possible, i would think an artist or their management would want to use as many avenues of possible to reach people. news updates should be available via sarahslean.com, the sarah's universe mailing list *and* navy-soup so as to reach the maximum number of interested parties. in other words, don't neglect a mailing list because there is a website. woj ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Jul 2000 14:19:25 -0400 From: "W. Meth n woj, I'm really sorry you guys didn't know about the New Haven show, it was my responsibility to make sure that you and everyone else knew about the show and I didn't. Even if we hadn't been net.friends for many years, I should have made sure you guys knew about the show. Everyone, feel free to let me know when I start slipping in my webmaster role, sometimes I just get wrapped up in other things and forget things I shouldn't!
