Ah yes, I know what everyone means with regards to having to leave Sarah's shows because they're not finished early enough. I loooove Sarah's shows, but that's always been my one complaint - she comes on so late all the time. It would at least be more understandable on Friday or Saturday nights, but I've had to walk out of Tuesday night performances because Sarah didn't even start until after 11. That's quite an upsetting thing to have to do, especially when you've paid a cover and when the show is advertised for 9 or 9:30. I'm not dependent on the GO train, but I do take a TTC bus that leaves Kennedy station at 1 am and if I'm not there, I'm screwed. Heather, if you're reading this, do you think that Sarah could find a New Year's Resolution to last year's war... the war against the clock? Many of her fans would really appreciate it! sincerely, a chick who'd really like to hear the last song ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Jan 2000 11:32:56 -0500 From: "Kimberly B Littlejohn" Subject: Philly Hey there! So I drove down from Boston Saturday to Philly only to find out Sarah was sick with laringytis (sp?) and would not be playing - She could barely talk :( Tory played and was absolutely amazing and well worth the trip - He mentioned they'd be back in Philly the end of March - I'm not sure if he meant just him or him and Sarah (Heather?) - Hopefully she'll be better for her Ontario dates - When I spoke to her at MIT she said in February she'd be out west - anyone know more about those plans? Enjoy your Monday - I know I will - yay. Kim ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Jan 2000 12:42:10 -0500 From: what@ican.net (What? Management) Subject: Sarah update... Hi there folks, Sincerest apologies to all of you who made it out to "The Point" show only to find that Sarah was ill and unable to perform... That's easily in Sarah's Top 10 list for the worst things that can happen (just above the time I *almost* locked only her hands in my trunk - a managerial no-no to say the least). We've rebooked the show for March 30th, and the wonderful Tory Cassis will be performing as well. Things don't look very good for Hamilton tomorrow, but I'm hopeful for the Riv on Thursday, but I'll let the list know as soon as I have official word. Thanks very much to everyone for their understanding... I've heard that people are desperate for an earlier start time for the show at the Riv, and I do understand that shows can tend to go late, but there are so many factors involved in club shows (including that the club wants the show to stretch out for bar sales, the musicians have day sessions and can't get to soundcheck until later than usual, etc...) that 95% of the time it's beyond our control to get the shows on early. Even when we try to get things going earlier, sometimes there's an earlier "private" show/industry showcase going on, or the techy discovers he's two pieces of equipment short and has to go out and find them, or there's other technical trouble, or the opener plays half an hour longer than they should after being half an hour late going on, or the club/promoter adds a third act on the bill without as a favour to someone's aunt, etc... Your wishes have been heard and filed in the appropriate brain cell, however... Best, Heather. PS - Sarah and Tory will be heading into the wilds of western Canada in early February (I'll forward final details once I have them), and there will be some other U.S. dates built around the March 30th show in Philly... Stay tuned... ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Jan 2000 16:34:13 -0500 From: what@ican.net (What?
