This song was beaaaautiful. Anyone know if this song is > "Closer", or if not, what it is? I was disappointed to see that it did not > make the album final cut (if this is indeed the song). That would be either _Closer_ or _Memory Don't Fade_, but I suspect the former more than the latter. Was it the first song? Or later in the set? (1) Memory Don't Fade (*) (2) Playing Cards with Judas (3) Me and John the 23rd (4) High (5) Closer (6) Eliot (7) Me and Jerome (8) Ogoni Star (for Steve) That was a particularly inspiring rendition of "Closer" as well, I was completely mesmerized, I ironically comment in my journal that, "This is fabulous, so uniquely private and powerful, I'm loathe to write anything at all." This was one of the best Sarah shows, it was great to have Suzie and Sarah Harmer there too. Sarah H's Lodestar (the one _she_ lead off on) was amazing :-) It became my favourite Sarah H song later on this year. It'd be a perfect song to lazy about in a boat an look at the stars too... ...thats another album I'm anxious for :-) This was an interesting gig as the SOS tour had a few gigs under its belt by this time, so Sarah S, did a song with Suzie (Oh Susanna) "about a city girl who loves the country," which I think is called, "Tangled and Wild". At the end they all did "On the Road" together with Sarah and Suzie trying not to giggle in the back. I still have that little picture in my head. It was a very charming gig. One thing did strike me that night, that I captured in my journal is, "how very much Ogoni Star is a touchstone for what makes a Sarah Slean song. Its the hope, shining through the most desperate of circumstances. A diamond jewel of light in the middle of an inky blackness." (*) I think this was the first time she played MDF, since she introduced it, saying, "this song is about 20 minutes old..." James. (Who thinks he _still_ unnerves Sarah Harmer when he claps in anticipation of her Hillbillies cover, "Mercy Bin", love the song, love the group and Trevor Henderson is one 'hell' ;-) of a songwriter. :-) ) P.S.
