[James McGarry Subject: In the Soup; or How I Got Wet for Sarah Slean! Soupers! It was a _real_ soup today for the Guelph rendition of the Stardust (or rather StarMud) Picnic. I'm gonna keep this short since its getting late, I have a splitting headache and I have to get up for work tomorrow! She may not have made the sun come out, but she managed to hold off the torrential downpour. The sun thing was flashy, but I'm more impressed with the holding off the torrents! ;-) (Hence the title: I got wet for Sarah Slean.) Set List (1) Habit (Much reworked and fiddled with. In a word: brilliant!) (2) Me and Jerome (with Mike Olson (cello) and Mark Mariash (percussion) (3) Playing Cards with Judas (4) High (5) Universe (with a big smile that was almost sunshine :-) ) (6) Weight (7) Blue Parade (Sweeeeet!) I was happy. My headache when away during the set! I'm in awe, I want this album so much! It is gonna knock your socks off! Blue Parade was a sweet addition! Sweeeeet! BTW I noticed (and I forgot to mention this to you HP!) a rapt Coco Love Alcorn (Aside: *sigh*) stage right really getting into Sarah's set and this grrrl _knows_ her music! That attention was pretty high praise in my book!) Brava! Brava! James. (Glad now to be... DRY!!!) (P.S. Coco was also the best thing about the 54-40 set, Coco is the real energizer bunny! I don't know where she gets it!) ========================================================================== James McGarry | jmcgarry@UoGuelph.CA - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Some men are so selfish that they read a book or go to a concert for their own sinister pleasure, instead of doing it to improve social conditions , as the good citizen does when drinking cocktails or playing bridge." - Jacques Barzun French-born U.S. Educator ========================================================================== ------------------------------ End of navy-soup-digest V2 #70 ******************************
