Julia is a very talented artist. I was helping her label promote her before the CD was released on the Internet and got a chance to hear her material early on--I don't love *Every* song, but a few really really grew on me. I don't understand the comparisons above, though.... Figure 8 is a solid CD, though, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out. You can hear samples on her website (www.juliadarling.com) or at CD NOW, where the CD is on sale for $10. :) Jessica www.aquezada.com/jess ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 18 Jun 1999 12:28:02 -0400 From: Steve I Subject: Re: CD Release show update Bloo wrote: >Now I wonder if we will all get in the spirit and dance in the mud and >rain during Sarah's set... Management) Subject: Ted's Wrecking Yard door/set times Hi there Soupers! Just wanted to let you know that the doors at Ted's Wrecking Yard (549 College Street West) will be open by 7pm on Thursday August 12th. The set will begin around 8pm. There will be some other musician friends in attendance, so if we're supportive enough and willing to stay (and why wouldn't we!?), I'll bet that a "free for all" show will take place. Should be an awesome time... The show on Friday will be a later one (I'll let you all know the specific set time closer to the date, but we're probably looking at the opener's set starting around 9:30pm, with Sarah taking the stage around 10:30pm). Doors open at 8:30pm. The all ages show on Saturday will start at 2pm and we have to be out of there by 4pm (there's another act playing in the club that night). Doors will open at 1pm. You people are wicked! I've been calling Sarah (who has been working like a *fiend* on the completion of the record!) to update her about your requests for invitations and she's just about losing her mind with excitement! This is going to be one *amazing* weekend. Thanks for making it so special. Joy to every one of you, Heather. What? Yup, its on the South side. Be wary, the numbers don't quite jive on both sides of College around there. Look for the Yellowy-Rainbowish Barcode sign just below it. If you're looking for a good snack place close by I recommend Amatto's Pizza on College... If you're looking for more precise directions try: http://www.mapquest.com which will give you pretty good directions there. From Outside the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). From the 401, take the 427 South to the Gardiner Expressway, go East (to Toronto) on the Gardiner and then take the Spadina exit North, go North to College (you'll pass King, Queen, and Dundas), it's left at College, and just about 1/2 a block down (remember read the numbers on the left-hand, southside, northside will mess you up but good). It is this way, right Steve, its not just me?? :-) James. ========================================================================== James McGarry | jmcgarry@UoGuelph.CA - -------------------------------------------------------------------------- An artist should be fit for the best society and keep out of it. - - John Ruskin ========================================================================== ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Jun 1999 22:23:58 -0400 (EDT) From: "Julian C. It's coming VERY soon in fact. (No, I won't tell you when it is. You have to ask him yourself) :-P I'm so excited for the month of August!
