I have come to attribute this to three facts, (1) they are both female, (2) they both play piano and (3) they both have had classical training. It was my first thought too and I think, initially it sold a lot of people on the strength of Sarah's work, but that ad hoc comparison is a very superficial one. Now, I'm very much of the notion that such an opinion comes from just not paying attention. But people will pick up an this eventually :-) Its just that we know now :-) I like Tori a lot, I have a great admiration for her competancy as an artist and she moves me deeply. But I like Sarah's work so much more. Maybe it boils down to being it comes from a context I can well understand. To each their own taste.
