Hmph. Ha! It delights me when people stick up for my artist! Actually, I can fill you in a bit on why there's not a huge Sarah Slean push with this compilation -- we requested that there not be. Alan Fletcher (the "special projects" guru at Warner Music Canada who put this compilation together) was actually pushing for Sarah to work out an edit of "I Know" because he loves it so much he wanted to release it as "the single" (and it's a little long to be radio friendly) for the compilation. Warner was very willing to put a big push behind Sarah with the release of this record, and we were very honoured and touched that they would want to put forth that effort on our behalf at this early stage. But Sarah would prefer that people hear "I Know" in its complete, unedited form (she wouldn't even attempt an edit because she felt the song could never carry the same meaning) and learn more about her and her music because they *choose* to, not because a record company tells them they should. (It was quite fun turning down the very kind offer from the record company, actually. They must think we're quite nuts!) She's not in any rush. She's concentrating on the recording of the new record and would prefer to get "known" because of her own work rather than that of a "hype machine". (Especially now while she has the freedom that her deal allows her during the life of this new record.) Sheesh. She makes me really proud... But Tab, bless you for noticing! :) Best, Heather What? What makes that band a vehicle for women, anymore than any of the slew of mixed-sex bands out there? Too bad Happy Rhodes isn't on that compilation. It would be such great exposure for her, as would Lilith Fair. Now that the Natalie M's and Sheryl C's and Vonda S's stars have risen, isn't it time for a compilation of breakout artists who happen to be female?
