Apple Computer send developers a monthly CD, and the last time I saw it, they came in this neat case, which is basically a combination cardboard-plastic type thingee. It uses a plastic insert to hold the CD in place, which is glued onto the u-shaped cardboard piece. There's also a plastic snap to close tthe right-hand side. I also have a Sheryl Crow single that uses _similar_ packaging. Hmm, that sounds exactly like the same case that Belly's Moon EP comes in (which features their cover of Jimi Hendrix's "Are You Experienced"). It's a nice compromise between the standard all-plastic jewel case and an all-cardboard case; and it has pretty much the same sturdiness and ruggidness of a jewel case along with the distinctiveness that cardboard provides. However, as an avid purchaser of CDs, i definitely prefer the all-plastic jewel case for their all-around ruggidness. And if the case is ever damaged, it can be easily replaced--a definite advantage over any cardboard-type case.
