With some shows the line begins at 11am, but Patty fans are a bit older perhaps :) I heard her soundcheck Ohio, Love Throws a Line, Standing, Burgundy Shoes, and two boring songs from the gospel album. The 11th street entrance always has a shorter line, but if the queue at 9th street is short then it isn't worth walking between them. If the event hits capacity you can't get in (duh) but that's several thousand, vaguely defined because it depends on the rowdiness of the crowd. It might be okay tonight since it's the first show and some of the regulars aren't prepared. There is a fundraising gala beforehand so they'll get the best seats in front of the barrier (5 or so rows.) The seats were washed after their yearlong storage, but there may be some rust and spiderwebs left. Or bring your picnic blanket and lie down. The food inside was good last year so fingers crossed. Also BYO food and plastic bottle drinks. Karen ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 6 Jun 2013 08:52:03 -0700 From: Mud on My Face Subject: MM: Two great seats to Patty's L.A. Show at the Wiltern I have 2 extra tickets to Patty's Wiltern show on 6/25 - they're great seats in the first seated section behind the pit. I managed to get my hands on pit tickets and would love for a Patty fan to use my extras. Will sell them for face value ($105 for the pair). It's great hearing the initial "reviews" of the early shows in the tour - keep 'em coming!Ziad ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 3 Jun 2013 07:09:59 -0400 (EDT) From: Davewells Subject: Re: MM:greetings from baltimore.. as a long time reader who rarely ,if ever, posts and wants to stay on this list ,i thought i would give an update on last nights concert at the birchmere in alexandria ,va...i have always loved doug lancios guitar work but have to say i was definitely impressed by pattys new band ,the guys from the southern mississippi all stars..this was maybe the 7th or 8th time i have heard patty and the new band allowed her do do some stuff i hadnt heard in a long time...the bands impact was fairly immediate as she started her set with the first two songs off the new album...listening to the cd ,i was lukewarm on dont let me die in florida but with a bit more base and louder rhythm ,this song definitely improved(maybe its my stereo ??)..i am guessing here but i think somebody in her personal life may have convinced her she has some really good stuff in her old catalog ..between mixing in songs from the new album ,she went back to silver bell and played little god, actually rearranged and solo ..she also played chief and love, throw a line...the band really helped on an updated version of flaming red..the highlight for me was during the encore set ,when she played carry me off flaming red-i have always loved this song and blue sky off that album...carry me then flowed really nicely into ohio -no robert but scott miller who opened for her did come back out...all in all ,a great night !! - -----Original Message----- From: Liz Lightfoot To: mad-mission Sent: Sat, Jun 1, 2013 12:25 pm Subject: MM: Too sad for ads This is great: http://www.ottawacitizen.com/entertainment/Patty+Griffin+glad+voice+http+patt ygriffin/8463009/story.html Liz ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Jun 2013 22:10:19 -0400 From: Lisa Zwick Subject: Re: MM: Patty at Celebrate Brooklyn tonight No Little God, but was worth it all just to hear Top of the World, Flaming Red and Carry Me!! I watched the whole concert through my camera screen even though I was second row of the free seats. The VIP area in front was mostly empty, which is dumb. Anyway, good show. Would have liked to be closer but I guess I can't complain for free! - -Lisa Sent from my iPhone On Jun 5, 2013, at 4:43 PM, Karen Hester wrote: > I was just walking the dogs past the SoundShell and there was no line at > 4pm.
