For those wondering (since we recently had "Walk The Line"), its concentrates on June's story, from what I gather anyway. http://www.mylifetime.com/movies/ring-of-fire Mike ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 May 2013 21:42:24 +0000 From: joandstuart@btinternet.com Subject: Re: MM: RE: Silver Bell I am that person but have asked for a copy. Right now in her career she isn't looking back much though. I can say that she once signed my bootleg copy of the CD with an "Oh wow" and a smile. Having said all of that, I'm not sure if there is anyone left who doesn't have a copy, but if there is, they should speak up now. :-) Bruce - -----Original Message----- >From: owner-mad-mission@smoe.org [mailto:owner-mad-mission@smoe.org] On Behalf Of John Patrick Utrup >Sent: Thursday, May 23, 2013 11:33 AM >To: mad-mission@smoe.org >Subject: MM: Silver Bell > >Now that the Great Exodus is simmering down... > >Does anyone need a >copy of Silver Bell?| > >Does anybody know if there are legal repercussions to posting it to DropBox and sharing it? > >I'm assuming a decade or so later we can safely assume it's not going to be otherwise released. > >If anyone knows a >reason I shouldn't post this for general enjoyment purposes, let me know. Someone from this list was kind enough to burn me a copy several years ago, but there were, alas, technical difficulties... Regarding the new American Kid, I hope to write something more substantive later, but for me the standout additions to Patty's canon from this release are: Go Wherever You Wanna Go Wild Old Dog That Kind Of Lonely Cheers, Larry I in L.A. <-----Original Message-----> >From: Bruce Greenberg [Bruce@gdrgroup.com] >Sent: 5/23/2013 1:57:34 PM >To: mad-mission@smoe.org >Subject: Re: MM: RE: Silver Bell > >Well, there is hope that someday Patty will go back and put Silver Bell into a >box set of unreleased music. If you need a distraction for a few minutes, Patty co-wrote a song with Margaret Cho. She doesn't sing on it, Fiona Apple does the harmonies, but you might want to take a listen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkysAgxuY9c&feature=youtu.be Bruce ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 May 2013 18:59:47 +0000 From: jmphlbat@comcast.net Subject: Re: MM: Silver Bell Mike. I don't think there's such a thing as a low key and anonymous accompaniment from Plant -- simply because he's Robert Plant. For example, if it was Doug Lancio instead of Plant, many of Patty's fans would know him, but it wouldn't be billed as Patty and Doug the same way that it's billed as Patty and Robert. And that goes back to my admitted peeve that I prefer the focus to be squarely on Patty because she has more than enough to offer on her own. Plus, it's been several years since she's released an album full of original material, so it's really Patty who I want to hear. Having said that, I really don't have an issue with anyone who disagrees with me on this point. I realize it's my own little peeve and, for whatever reason, I just have it! ________________________________ From: "joandstuart@btinternet.com" To: Bruce Greenberg ; owner-mad-mission@smoe.org; "mad-mission@smoe.org" Sent: Thursday, May 23, 2013 2:42 PM Subject: Re: MM: RE: Silver Bell I am that person but have asked for a copy.
