As for uploading concert footage to YouTube... I never thought there was any problem either. I assumed bands would want them up there for the exposure. Some have even shared my videos themselves and were glad I recorded them. But then a friend of mine told me his account got deleted bc of copyright infringement. Three of his videos got removed, resulting in three strikes against his account. Three strikes means your account is deleted. I currently have two strikes against my own account because of one person -- Prince!! I'm not even a fan of his, but I recorded someone else covering his songs and his label had them pulled down. So now I'm scared that any video I upload could cause that third strike. - -Lisa Sent from my iPhone On May 11, 2013, at 8:33 PM, Bruce Greenberg wrote: > Wonderful videos. This mailing list USED to get about 20 to 30 a day during its absolute peak period, and another list I have, for Jewel, used to getget this425+ emails a day during a peak period that lasted a few weeks. Yes, that is 425 or more, not a typo. During their average periods when both artists were popular and these lists were the lace to be for the fans, Mad-Mission was say, a couple dozen a day, Jewel 100 or so a day. All of this was the late 1990s. The recent upswing in activity here has had several desiring to leave while posting such to the list or to myself in private emails. It is hard to believe that exactly 30 posts on MM over a 7-day stretch - which is what we got the last week - is unwieldy for some but, so be it. It is what it is. Back in the 1990s, on many lists hosted at smoe.org, 30 posts for one week, well, they would have been considered to be on life-support. Anyway, if you wish to leave this group, just follow the instructions laid out at the website for the Mad-Mission mailing list, www.quackquack.net/pattyg Mike list owner ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 May 2013 16:59:24 -0400 From: Lizzie Fortenberry Bebber Subject: Re: MM: Remove me from list Me too! Lisa, My attitude has always been, post it and apologize later. It only does them good to have these performances posted (plus they can get royalties from Google) and if they don't see it, that's their mistake. So, I say, post it. And while we're on that subject, Patty did an interview/performance on KCSN the other day. I thought it wasn't recording so I pressed the button a few times. Ha. Instead of deleting the 7-second video (#3), I just made it private. As for copyright issues, I guess Patty's label/management would be easier to talk to if there's a problem than some others that are impossible to get ahold of (like Prince). - -Lisa Sent from my iPhone On May 12, 2013, at 4:03 AM, Lisa Ridlon wrote: > I agree with Bruce, post stuff and apologize later :).
