Overall the people involved in the behind the scenes (both people at the Continental Club, HAAM and Michael Fracasso's wife) must have been impressed with the story since they all linked it to their facebook pages and promoted it. As far as the "married" part goes, that particular line was deleted from the story although no retraction was stated. By all accounts of those working at the club and working on this project, everyone was very happy with the way things went and Robert and Patty were able to help raise a lot of money for two very good causes...which was the whole point of the two evenings. - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2012 16:56:40 -0600 From: Rob Hanning Subject: RE: MM: RE: Patty and her Driver That wouldn't be the only thing the writer got wrong in that article - it says both nights were benefits for Michael Fracasso and HAAM. The first night was for Michael; the second was for HAAM. > To: mad-mission@smoe.org > Subject: Re: MM: RE: Patty and her Driver > From: lisa071573@aol.com > Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2012 12:13:54 -0500 > > > So, this article says "the newly married couple" but last I'd heard, > Robert Plant's managment had announced that they were not married and > that Robert's > use of the word "elope" was not meant to mean that they'd gotten married. The first show, on the 15th is for Michael Fracasso who was injured in a car accident earlier this year. The second show on the 16th is going to benefit HAAM. Both shows sold out very quickly, the second show selling out in less than seven minutes. They were billed as Patty and Her Driver which was quickly determined to be Robert Plant. In addition to those two, Dony Wynn and Glenn Fukunaga from the Crown Vic show and David Pulkingham will be in the band. There was also a charity auction on ebay for two tickets to the show on the 16th will all proceeds going to HAAM, an organization that provides health care to musicians in the Austin area. The ending bid was $1275.00. I think it's really great to hear about artists giving back and I know Patty has been involved in several benefits over the years. I just thought it was kinda cool and should be shared. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2012 15:09:58 -0800 From: Bruce Greenberg Subject: RE: MM: RE: Patty and her Driver To paraphrase a line from an old Frank Zappa song: If it is in Rolling Stone, it must be true.
