I'd be happy to stick a bowl of them on stage at the Northcote Social Club here in Melbourne. Not sure how easy it would be at The Athenaeum, a bit bigger venue. Hopefully Patty fans will not be arrested under suspicion of terrorist activities due to a dubious package being left on the stage! Our government is a bit paranoid. I'm going to both of the Melbourne shows...can't wait until I can see Patty in the flesh!. Confession time...I actually unsubscribed from this list a few months ago because it was killing me to keep reading all the wonderful reviews of her shows and feeling like I was never going to see her ( I know that's not a very positive way of looking at things). So I'm back and can't wait to be able to actually contribute to list with my own experiences of a PG live performance. I was at a Ditty Bops show a few months ago and this guy did EVERYTHING you said you wouldn't. He was using flash exclusively and taking pictures as frequently as if he were doing a runway shoot (I'm not kidding). After enduring 20 minutes of this, I finally approached him and kindly asked if he'd tone it down. His retort was that he was the bands "professional" photographer and that they liked lots of pictures taken then kept snapping away. Since he was taking photos from the wings and virtually on stage too, I assume this was true. I'll think twice before spending good money seeing another one of their shows if they think having their picture taken by someone like this is more important than the concert experience of their fans. Given what's been said about the quality of flash photography and his intrusiveness, I have a feeling that he, in fact, was an amateur that approached the Ditty's and got permission much like you're attempting to do here David. And boy, do I wish that would have been you instead! It sounds like you'll treat Patty and her fans with respect. I hope you'll get the access at Patty's shows that you're looking for.
