She was the relative unknown then and I felt that she had charmed the crowd. Now they were here just for her. Ten years ago I saw her play for just 30 or so people at the tiny Eli Whitney Barn and It was interesting to note how she has grown up- very confident and in charge of her audience. Little black dress, black open toed stacked high heels and her hair down. Another thought I had was it didn't matter to me which songs she chose for the set list because every single song matters, each one is a special facet of her catalogue and I love them all. It amazes me how these singers can just swoop from one song right into the next, barely catching their breath- she was right on it throughout the set, no breaks. The set list was similar to the Portland list. I had never heard Backwater Blues before or Live Forever, both covers. She gave us Poor Man's House for the Living With Ghosts gem. The audience loved everything, but they just rise up at the first notes of those LWG songs. Tonite is Mountain Winery- double concerts!!! Scott Miller opened- just easy on the eyes girls and lots of personality- Exc. guitar player, good songs. I would happily go to his concerts anytime, and he is now on my list of faves. I got both his Cds and they kept me going on the 2 hr ride home last night. I always love to discover new singersongwriters that I actually like, so I am happy about that- and I'll hear him again tonite! This time I may be a little familiar with his songs. So, off to the evening again, Midsummer nights dream cheers, Dana in Antioch ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2007 18:12:35 -0700 From: diamondmask Subject: MM: Re: mad-mission-digest V11 #168 Patty is in the latest issue of Acoustic Guitar magazine.
