I also was behind in 3 CDs by jewel, the other list I run here at smoe.org. So, I took the opportunity to get caught up on both, and some Loreena McKennitt CD purchases, during this past weekend's drive to Charlotte NC (from upstate NY) and the return trip which ended last night. I am not the type to give full reviews, but Patty songs that stood out to me were "Rain" from 1000 Kisses, "Kite Song" from Impossible Dream and "Heavenly Day" from the most recent CD. My fave CD of the three was 1000 Kisses. While Jewel's debut CD (Pieces Of You) remains my favorite CD release between the offerings of Patty and Jewel, I have to say after listening to the six most recent releases the two of them have put forward, I'd MUCH rather listen to Patty's CDs during a drive or just mulling around the house. Live shows for me it's still a draw. One further comment on Rain , which was the strongest song from Patty or Jewel I heard during the drive. If anyone would cover that song, I think AeroSmith could have an *absolute* smash hit with it, along the lines of "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing". Listen to it and try to imagine Steven Tyler belting that one out with a similar arrangement as Patty's and melding it with similarities with/of the arrangement of IDWTMAT. I hit repeat on that one a number of times and really do thing AeroSmith could take it to #1 for a few weeks.
