I was blown away by how fantastic she sounded, looked, and came across like a true lady, a true artist, a true soul. Absolutely smashingly phenomenal. ________________________________________________________________________ AOL now offers free email to everyone. Perhaps will write more at a later time, but for now just to say that she was just incredible, there was lots of magic in the air, and she sang the song "...and a little bit of magic..." that I had remembered recently but forgotten what it was..."You Never Get What You Want", of course. And she rocked out on that one solo and sweetly said that she hoped we do get we want, or something to that effect. There was so much love and appreciation in the audience and Patty just shined like the true star she is. I love the French hymn, a favorite of her grandmother's that she opened with. I loved Jane S. playing cello on "Mary". I was crying during "Top of the World". I may write more at another time but I have to run now, all I wanted to say was how impressed I was and how appreciative and glad to have been at the concert. It was nice to meet Maria from this list. I hadn't seen Patty live in a long time, and it's wonderful to see how she's come into herself and grown as an artist, how dynamic she is, how touching, heartbreaking brilliant and gorgeous. Such intelligent lyrics so full of soul. I even overheard people working there at concessions and other stands outside saying she had such an amazing voice they had to stay inside for awhile to hear. What a lady. Magic was definitely in the air. And New York loves Patty, no doubt. The Beacon was such a good venue, large and yet still intimate, and I think I speak not only for myself when I saw that I was at rapt attention and feeling it the whole time. I can tell it must have been a great show. She is so amazing. I wanted to ask what is the French Hymm? What is the name of that song?
