Of a block of three, I've got one seat left for Patty at the Beacon tomorrow night. The seat is in the orchestra left, Row U. I'm just looking to get back what I paid, which, including fees, was $50. E-mail me at robfouch@aol.com. I'll be at the show so we can meet up beforehand and I'll give you the ticket. Thanks. Concert notes by me with help from Cathy (PghPasta). See Don Henn's email for set list. The place seemed filled, both main floor and balcony, at least from my vantage point in the fourth row left. The crowd was very attentive; you could hear a pin drop when the audience was not applauding/cheering. The excellent, fantastic concert was a reward for all of us. Patty encouraged us all to wish upon a star. She mentioned that her grandmother died this past fall at age 99 (was it 99?) She referenced the weather and Pittsburgh sports, though she had not realized that the Penguins lost. She said that she was not a childhood follower of hockey despite growing up in Maine. Patty wore her hair in a ponytail, a fitted black knit skirt, tights and sparkly black top under a blue fitted blazer...no visible jewelry but jazzy black cowboy boots. Her band was great and fun to watch, especially on Truth #2 and No Bad News (those two songs are of a kind); Getting Ready too. Doug was his usual steady presence and even played the bucket on one song (No Bad News?) and the bucket flew away on the final note, Michael Longoria on drums was fun to watch, especially on Rain, and the Nashville-based electric guitarist guy and bass player woman added more dimension. Having the female back-up singer was a nice addition. First Star was beautiful (as were all the "slow" songs). It sounded like the beautiful XM The Loft version. I agree with Don that Kite Song was a bit off; not quite as good as the CD version, but hey, how can you match perfection! As Cold As It Gets always gives me goose bumps to listen. NBN was an absolute highlight for me, Overall, the arrangements and performances were impeccable. The crowd loved the concert, giving standing o's including after NBN. The concert was perfectly long, at about one hour and 40 minutes. ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V11 #113 **********************************
