Lucy Kaplansky is very good isnt she? (fantastic live). I don't have new CD yet, but all previous ones I like, in particular "Ten year night". Impressive guitar work too. ++ However, well done PG - that 100.000 gets closer! It was weird he spent so much time interviewing Jamie Lee Curtis. They were just talking about Jamie's vacation not her latest work. It seemed like a waste of air time. Then with minutes left in the show, Leno gave Patty a quick but lovely plug and I heard him compliment her when the song was finished. (unlike Letterman who often doesn't do this) Overall, he performance was disappointing to me. However, she looked great, especially her hair and make-up. But her guitar playing wasn't much to watch. She was just keeping laid back rythm. Although she sang with her usually passion, I didn't think it was a good song chioce in terms of her self-promotion. I wonder if this exposure will result in new fans. Perhaps it will result in sales? I dunno. I suppose exposure is exposure. I taped Leno on dvd and watched it three times. I haven't watched the Ellen one yet. Maybe I'll have time to see it tonight? Yeah, I can't wait for the Orpheum show either. I have my tickets. Whoo hoo! Loved the first song (I don't know the title). Her look, performance, attitude, excitement was stunning. She was clearly having a LOT of fun. It was enjoyable to watch. Now she's singing Heavenly Day (with full accompaniment) closing the show. To anyone else watching, the 2nd grade teacher who played "Are You Smarter Than An Ellen Audience Member" against Jeff Foxworthy is from a town like one mile from where I live. Not sure if it was the song choice or just her energy level, but if that was the first time I'd ever heard her, I'd easily forget it. Her performances on ellen, however were just as lively and energetic asshe was at the NYC show. She seemed to be enjoying herself. Renewed my enthusiasm for seeing her next week. Speaking of which, who else is going to the NYC show? I'll be alone since I couldn't find anyone who wanted to spend $50 on her. Is anyone meeting up beforehand? - -Lisa ------------------------------ End of mad-mission-digest V11 #106 **********************************
