It airs this week. It will be playing tomorrow (Monday) at 9am and 6pm Pacific time, Thursday at Noon and 6pm, Friday at 1am and Saturday at 4pm. Again these are Pacific times. But it was a beautiful hour of Patty nonetheless. More later. Although it's very cryptic, this song strikes me as something that could be the female side of "Top Of The World" or "Long Ride Home," songs told from the male point of view about long relationships marred by an emotional gulf between husband and wife. The line near the end about "most everything means nothin', 'cept some things, they mean everything" just knocks me out and is in serious contention for my favorite lyric on CRT. As for the title (and again, just guessing here), decorative wings are a common motif on train cars (e.g., many Union Pacific locomotives have a winged shield painted on the nose), so perhaps the title is just an elegant synonym for train. According to what she said on The Loft, it is based on a couple she knows who have been married over 50 years.
