I started refreshing the "Look For Tickets" screen around 9:58, and after almost five minutes I got a message (which I've never seen or heard about before) to the effect that Ticketmaster allows a finite number of screen refreshes in the interest of "fairness," and that my access to the website would be temporarily disabled for "several" minutes. Utter despair...until I re-accessed the website to find that the on-sale date had been pushed back to *tomorrow* (Sunday). At least they didn't make the tickets available *earlier* without notifying people! Looks like another restless night awaits... Cheers, Larry I in LA Don't Get Locked in by your Annuity J.G. Otherwise I would have missed it totally. I love the Wiltern and seeing Patty there is terrific. I will definitely be ready and waiting to buy these tickets in the morning. Whoo HOO....I am so excited about seeing Patty. A little miscommunication I suppose. A friend of mine gave me a digital copy of the new CD last night and I've been playing it nonstop. I still plan on being at B&N Tuesday morning to pick up the real thing. Man, this is going to be a great tour! I am so tempted to do the San Diego show too. One of the few positives in living in The O.C.: It is half way between both cities. bruce - -----Original Message----- From: owner-mad-mission@smoe.org [mailto:owner-mad-mission@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Jennifer Crandall Sent: Saturday, February 03, 2007 10:49 AM To: mad-mission@smoe.org Subject: Re: MM: L.A. ticket delay same thing here! i kept refreshing and refreshing, and then all of a sudden i noticed the on-sale date was tomorrow, but i was SURE it had been today... guess i'll be setting my alarm again tomorrow morning. I invited a friend to go to the NYC show with me, thinking she would like Patty, since she listens to similar artists. She even said, when I originally asked, that she thinks she likes Patty. But after listening to the songs on myspace, she changed her mind, didn't really like it (except for maybe one song). She then remembered that she saw her on PBS (Austin City Limits) and didn't like those either. But I'm still convinced that she would enjoy Patty's stuff, thinking maybe she just got a bad taste of her music. Any thoughts on a few songs I could send her to try to change her mind? The concert is in only a few days and I want to give her a real taste of Patty in time, b/c if she's absolutely sure she doesn't want to go, then I'd want to find someone else who would. Oh and a reason she gave for her dislike was that she's "too sappy"(!!!). I would describe Patty as anything but sappy, which is why I'm convinced she may have just got a poor sampling of her songs (ie. Heavenly Day MIGHT be considered sappy). Thanks! - -Lisa ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 3 Feb 2007 17:52:25 -0800 From: "Lawrence Israelson" Subject: Re: MM: How to convince someone that they really DO like Patty? Looking at what Patty played in Boston the other night, I suggest: Useless Desires No Bad News Love Throw A Line Long Ride Home Long Ride Home is the most downbeat of this group, but if your friend listens to it and decides it's "sappy," then by all means quit trying to force the issue. That ticket is way too valuable to waste on a philistine. For No Bad News, last I checked there was a grainy video of the entire song at youtube.com--not the finest in stereophonic sound but still very cool.
