Plus, if these are radio tie-ins, there's likely to be a lot of streaming audio, etc. that we can access on the web. Thanks, Murph! All the showcases have a radio station tie in. Most will be in the 45 minute range at most, some shorter, thus the low prices for tickets. Just thought you should know Murph - -----Original Message----- From: owner-mad-mission@smoe.org [mailto:owner-mad-mission@smoe.org] On Behalf Of Lawrence Israelson Sent: Thursday, January 04, 2007 3:25 PM To: mad-mission@smoe.org Subject: MM: Los Angeles/Hotel Cafe Bless you, Gillian! I actually drove down to the Hotel Cafe yesterday afternoon and spoke with an employee going into the back entrance, but he knew (or so he claimed) nothing about this show--nothing about ticket prices, on-sale date (when or even if), etc. It was very frustrating because the venue's website included no information, either, when I checked (several times!) yesterday. There was no phone number listed, and the FAQ, although entertaining on a certain level, was very flippant and not really that informative. On top of all that, the one piece of info the employee was able to give me was that Hotel Cafe's capacity is only around 200, which put my worry level about scoring tickets off the scale. (Whoa--I'm beginning to sound like a stalker...) One more thing: twelve dollars??? My bank account appreciates it, but does this mean we're in for an abbreviated performance? I've been going to Patty's L.A. shows since before the release of Flaming Red, and I can't remember a less expensive ticket. Dar Williams is playing two nights at Hotel Cafe later this month, and those tickets are $20. Don't get me wrong--I really like Dar Williams, own at least five of her CDs, and saw a wonderful show with my daugther at the Ford Amphitheatre--but if Dar tickets are $20, Patty tickets for such an intimate venue should be double that or more...
