I apologize for any inconvenience - Mike Last posted August 2006.... In case anyone was wondering, each time a "delete me" email comes in, I do not unsubscribe the person. Instead, I send them the form-reply below. I have filters installed in the configuration file that controls this list to filter out posts containing the word "unsubscribe", but I haven't been able to get new configurations to work to filter-out the "delete me" posts. I'm trying Please do NOT reply to the list with any of THIS post quoted...it very likely will not get through due to filters. Private replies are more than welcome :-) Mike ______________________________________________________________ Before you unsubscribe, please note there IS a news only version of the Patty Griffin mailing list. Very few posts, no discussion, just news about Patty. (tour info, magazine articles etc) Details at the end of this email. Also, there is a digest version of the regular list, where you do not get each and every email sent to the list, rather a single digest which contains most of the list emails sent that day. A digest is sent at 1:35am the following day, or when the accumulated volume of posts since the latest digest reaches 18K in size. Typically it means one digest a day, but during times of more discussion we mat get two or three digests a day. Details on how to subscribe to this version are below. Howdy, I'm Mike and I manage the Mad-Mission mailing list. Very recently, you expressed a desire either to the list or someone that you wish to unsubscribe. This will tell you how to unsubscribe succesfully :) Depending on which version of the two mad-mission mailing lists you subscribe to, follow the appropriate directions below. If you subscribe to both, you'll have to send multiple emails using these methods. Please note, if you wish to SUBSCRIBE to a different version while unsubscribing from one, you'll need to send a separate email to the proper address below, but just substitute the word subscribe where indicated below. *************************************************************************** Unsubscribing from the main/loose mail mad-mission mailing list: *************************************************************************** To unsubscribe, send an email to: mad-mission-request@smoe.org and put ONLY the two-line statement unsubscribe end in the BODY of the email. What you put in the SUBJECT of the email does not make a difference. To subscribe to THAT list, use the two-line statement subscribe end instead and send that to the address above. ***************************************************************** Unsubscribing from the mad-mission-digest mailing list: ***************************************************************** To unsubscribe, send an email to: mad-mission-digest-request@smoe.org and put ONLY the two-line statement unsubscribe end in the BODY of the email. What you put in the SUBJECT of the email does not make a difference. To subscribe to THAT list, use the two-line statement subscribe end instead and send that to the address above. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. :) Thanx for subscribing while you did, Mike :) P.S. To try the news list, after you unsubscribe from the regular list or digest, send the two line command: subscribe end to mad-mission-news-request@smoe.org It's a VERY low volume list. Maybe 2 posts a month. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Jan 2007 11:56:23 -0500 From: "Connell, Michael P \(US SSA\)" Subject: NPC - RE: MM: removal from list > when you signed up, you were given instructions on how to be removed from > the list. Anyone else that would like to be removed.. please refer to > those instructions and not reply to the entire list. Thanks in advance.. Drats! I thought I had them "remove from the list" posts properly filtered out :-( Anyhoots, I have a separate "how to" email I send to people who express a desire to be removed etc. I have to send it to them from home though and will do tonight. I prefer they do it on their own (a learning experience), plus the email also explains about the other two versions of this list, mad-mission-digest and mad-mission-news. Both are much lower volume than this list (how anyone can consider mad-mission anything BUT low volume is beyond me, but to each their own).
