I saw that part of the CMA's and I have to say - FAITH HILL WAS KIDDING!!! If you've ever watched the show before you would have seen her hamming it up with her husband and also pretending to be shocked when he won instead of her. I'm not even a Faith Hill fan but please - stop dramatizing such an innocent joke. it was funny. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Nov 2006 12:31:58 -0500 From: "Luca, Joseph \(EHS\)" Subject: MM: FW: faith hill Howdy--- Yesterday's Boston Globe had this to say about Faith: "Faith Hill scored major points both for bringing on terrific Stoughton singer-songwriter Lori McKenna to back her on the McKenna-penned gem about a desperate housewife 'Stealing Kisses' and then later for comically expressing mock outrage into the camera at losing Female Vocalist of the Year to season four 'American Idol' champ Carrie Underwood---who also won the Horizon Award for best new artist and sang her sassy 'Before He Cheats.' Hill's cheeky moment was a nice break from the obligatory tight smiles and golf claps of losing nominees." So that seems to corroborate the attached email... Yeah, after I posted it I got to thinking about it more and figured tehre likely was a lot about this we didn't know, including it being just goofing around, if not for just the simple reason it's something we've never seen, so why not? What might have helped her cause in telling everyone it was a joke and (of course) many not believing her and thus getting truly negative pub, would have been if she had some proof somehow that she was planning on doing that if she did not win (like a previous taped interview etc).
